“I’m a vampire, I’m a vampire. I’m afraid the light will set me on fire.”
This song, “King of the Closet” is from Swedish band Blindside’s debut album, A Thought Crushed My Mind. Blindside used to be really good. Scarily good, like Refused circa The Shape of Punk to Come good.
I’ve been working on a new Chelsea & Millie comic this evening, and this album comprised a portion of the drawing soundtrack for that session. So I thought I’d share a track, as this album is pretty hard to come by (at least I think it still is, it sure was back in the early 2000s when I was first getting into it).
One of my old bands, Delve, used to cover this song live. Delve’s vocalist, Regan (who is now in Left For Wolves), is the guy who owned this album when I discovered it. It is a very fun song to play on guitar!

I like to imagine that this girl grew up to be Fever Ray.
Sometimes my fans send me things. Sometimes they are fucking glorious things.
For the record, this is an abysmal movie (no surprises there, considering who wrote it) but my word do I like its promo-poster.
BUH-HURRRHURRHURRRR.
Some more Chelsea & Millie (and related characters) sketches!
A portion of the vertiginous sketchblitz that I emailed Tom a few days ago, accompanied by a bunch of text expounding upon each sketch; information which I shall not be promulgating here.
I didn’t spend much time on each of these, cos, well, they’re sketches. A means for me to dash down some visual ideas and make tangible a few images that have been cluttering up my mind as of late. And also, mainly, to share these visual ideas with Tom.
Here’s Chelsea and Millie’s mother, Clover, having a spot of bother with a caller of some sort.
Clover and Chelsea and Millie’s father Alain.
Clover reading Millie a bedtime story. Clover really gets into these tales, she does.
Timmy Aglet and his older sister Cassandra “Crash” Aglet, neighbours of Chelsea and Millie.
Millie, Chiquita and Chelsea consulting De Vermis Mysteriis.
Right, now, forget you ever saw these…
J.

Looks like Chiquita has bothered to show up with limbs for a change.
A warm-up sketch thingie I did earlier today on the back of an invoice from the Murder House (which is a delightful old New Zealand dysphemism for “dentist”).
Sometimes it does me good to just go outside my house and look at the clouds for awhile.
Especially during crepuscular times.

Quite possibly one of the most awesome things I have ever seen.
Words doth fail me.

Dispossessed voodoo-doll-thing just wants to be loved. Like many of us, I suppose.
Fuck, whatever.
